I will be making a trip later this year to fish the Snake River in Idaho, and if I get a chance, the Salmon River as well. In Utah, a lot of the water I fish are smaller streams. Big water presents new challenges on fly selection, technique, and casting. Casting big flies to big fish is something I don’t get the chance to do often so I am preparing now. The first thing that is needed at any water is the ability to make the proper cast. For this purpose I am going to take some time to better my double haul. Like allot of you, it is something I learned, but not something I ever perfected. This Video From RIO Products is one of the best I have seen so far when it comes to breaking the cast down to basics. With any luck I will manage without to many new piercings. Check out the video and let me know what you think. Oh, and wish me luck.
